Dermal Fillers
Our faces change with time. As you age your natural skin creases and folds will become more prominent. Restylane® is used as a dermatological filler to obliterate lines and folds, to create contours, add volume and sculpt soft tissues in the oro-facial region. Restylane® is manufactured in Sweden and is based on Hyaluronic acid, which exists as a natural molecule in the human body. Its function is to carry and bind water. Restylane® is a crystal clear, non-animal based, biodegradable gel.

What are Dermal Fillers?
Restylane® is a branded dermal filler that has most scientific evidence to support its longevity and action. Manufactured in Sweden, it is based on Hyaluronic acid, which exists as a natural molecule in the human body, to carry and bind water. Restylane® is a crystal clear, Non Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid (NASHA), biodegradable gel.

Why are Dermal Fillers Used?
Our faces change with time. As you age your natural skin creases and folds will become more prominent. Restylane® is used as dermatological filler to treat wrinkles, frown lines, smile lines, perform lip enhancements (to create fuller, defined lips) and scar revisions. Restylane® will give you a natural lift using the body's own material. Dermal fillers are available in a number of particle sizes from fine to large. This allows your Dentist to sculpt specific anatomical areas. The latest product, Restylane Sub Q® can be used to restore lost fat in the facial region, providing a more defined result.

Who carries out the treatment?
Treatment using dermal fillers is carried out by one of our specially trained dentists. Pre and post-operative photographs maybe taken to allow us to record the result that is produced.

Procedure
The treatment sites are specifically and selectively anaesthetised with minimal discomfort using local anaesthetic. Restylane® is administered using a very fine needle in tiny quantities, into targeted wrinkles. The treatment takes approximately 30-60 minutes. Discomfort is minimal, although after the treatment you may experience minor swelling, bruising or an itching sensation around the injection site. This is normal but transient, and will resolve in a few days. In the initial 48 hours after your treatment you will be asked not massage or rub the treated area. If you have had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days after the treatment. Do not expose the region to extremes of temperature.

How long do Dermal Fillers take to work?
As the effect of filling out wrinkles is immediate and change seen and can be impressive.

How long do the effects last?
In most cases the treatment results last for 6-12months; reducing in effect thereafter. Further administration of Restylane® is required to maintain optimum results
